The Parliament of Kazakhstan has ratified the CIS agreement on copyright protection on the Internet


Deputies of the Upper house of the Parliament of Kazakhstan approved the Law "On ratification of the Agreement on Cooperation of the CIS member states on the Protection and Protection of Rights to Copyright and Related Rights in Information and Telecommunications Networks". The lower House of the Parliament of Kazakhstan adopted this law on April 20.
This agreement was signed at a meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of Government on November 12, 2021 to resolve issues of the use of copyright and related rights in information and telecommunications networks, as well as in Internet resources on the territory of the CIS member states.
The agreement should also regulate the development and implementation of measures to prevent and suppress the illegal use of copyright objects, as well as the deepening of cooperation in this area between the competent authorities of the Commonwealth.
The document also provides for the continuous exchange of educational, methodological and special literature, as well as the results of scientific research on this topic.
The Interstate Council for the Legal Protection and Protection of Intellectual Property within the CIS will coordinate the interaction of the parties to the Agreement.
