The Turkmen weightlifter won silver at the Asian Championship-2023


Turkmen weightlifter Medine Atayeva won a silver medal on the third day of the ongoing Asian Weightlifting Championship 2023 in Jinju (Republic of Korea).
The seventeen-year-old weightlifter became the vice-champion of the tournament in the weight category up to 64 kg. Following the results of two exercises, Amanova showed a result of 207 kg (90+117), thereby losing the first line to Ganzorigiin Anuuzhin from Mongolia, who took a total weight of 211 kg (93+118). In the third position was the representative of Iran Fateme Keshavarz — 194 kg (85 +109).
A day earlier, Turkmen athlete Bunyad Rashidov was awarded bronze medals in the snatch in the weight category up to 67 kg.
The Asian Weightlifting Championship, which started on May 5, brought together about 400 athletes from 37 countries. It should be noted that 16 weightlifters (9 men and 7 women) represent the Turkmen side at the tournament.
The Continental Championship is a qualifying tournament on the eve of the Olympic Games — 2024. The tournament will end on May 13.
