The 20th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Bilateral Cooperation with the participation of heads of central government agencies and representatives of business circles of the two countries was held in Tashkent under the chairmanship of the heads of governments of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan Alikhan Smailov and Abdulla Aripov.

As the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan noted, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan account for about 80% of all trade in Central Asia. At the same time, there are significant prospects for deepening cooperation in agriculture, including increasing mutual trade in agriculture and the food industry, as well as further development of industrial cooperation. In this part, the construction of the International Center for Industrial Cooperation "Central Asia" is of great importance.

In addition, further expansion of trade relations requires modernization of transit and transport infrastructure.

In turn, Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov noted that the priority of deepening economic partnership is the development of industrial cooperation. "Following the talks of the heads of our states held in Tashkent, we jointly adopted a Roadmap that covers all priority areas, including the implementation of specific projects worth $10 billion," he said.

Then there was a signing ceremony of bilateral documents, including a Roadmap to accelerate the creation of the International Center for Industrial Cooperation "Central Asia" and a Joint plan of Practical Actions in the field of labor and protection of the rights of migrant workers.
