Turkmen customs officers study foreign experience of risk management
The national Seminar in the field of customs risk management, combating violations and automation of customs processes was held by the Border Management Assistance Program in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) in cooperation with the USAID Trade Program in Central Asia in Ashgabat.
During the course, the participants studied the experience of Kazakhstan in the field of risk management system integration into the process of customs clearance and control, database optimization. They also reviewed the practice of fulfilling obligations under the Agreement on Trade Facilitation of the World Trade Organization. In this context, experts from the State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance of Kazakhstan have prepared recommendations on the development of the existing customs risk management system in Turkmenistan.
The event was organized within the framework of Component 3 of the BOMCA 10 Program "Facilitating Legitimate Trade Flows across Borders" and Component 1 of the USAID Trade Program in Central Asia "Harmonization of Customs and Border Procedures", which are aimed at further supporting the process of regional economic integration and facilitating legitimate trade flows.
The risk management system is aimed at ensuring the effectiveness of customs control, focusing on high-risk areas, as well as creating conditions for speeding up and simplifying movement across the customs border.
