15 thousand Turkmen students study at universities in Turkey


More than 15 thousand citizens of Turkmenistan study at universities in Turkey. This was stated by the head of the Department for Compatriots Abroad and Related Communities, Sayit Yusuf, the website of the Atavatan Turkmenistan magazine reports.
He also confirmed the intension of Turkey to increase quotas for scholarship programs for Turkmen citizens by 2.5 times, bringing this number to 150 against the current 60.
Currently, 500 Turkmen applicants are being interviewed for admission under the program. In autumn, it is planned to organize several events to raise awareness of the citizens of Turkmenistan about the scholarship programs of Turkey.
The program fully covers the cost of the flight, the Turkish language course, the full course of study at the university and accommodation, medical insurance and indirect costs.
Now 16 thousand citizens from 170 countries of the world participate in the program.
