WHO experts are considering the possibility of ending the emergency regime due to the COVID-19 pandemic

Experts of the World Health Organization are considering the possibility of ending the global emergency related to COVID-19.
For example, WHO has unveiled its new coronavirus strategy to help countries move from emergency pandemic management to prevention and control.
The previous action plan, published in 2022, outlined two strategic goals: reducing the circulation of SARS-CoV-2, as well as the diagnosis and treatment of coronavirus in order to reduce mortality, morbidity and long-term consequences.
"The new strategy preserves these two objectives and adds a third: to support countries in the transition from emergency response to long-term sustainable prevention, control and management of COVID-19 disease," said WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom, presenting the strategy.
