OTG invited Turkmenistan to join the mechanism of related ports

Mirvohid Azimov, Deputy Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States, invited Turkmenistan to join the mechanism of related ports, speaking via video link at the Ashgabat conference "International Transport and Transit Corridors: Interconnection and Development - 2023" (ITTC-2023).
"To strengthen coordination between direct transport operators, such as sea and dry ports, as well as logistics centers, we have created the Sister Ports mechanism. We invite the seaports of Turkmenistan to join this system. By joining this network, the seaports of Turkmenistan can use the experience and resources of other ports, as well as contribute their unique knowledge and capabilities to it," Azimov said.
In addition, Azimov noted Turkmenistan's active participation in cooperation in the railway sector. In this context, the Deputy Secretary General of the OTG added that the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway corridor will open up additional opportunities for Turkmenistan as a transit hub between Europe and Asia.
