OCR: The railway connects the countries in an effort to create stable, peaceful and mutually beneficial transport links

Today Turkmenistan is one of the active participants on the platform of the Organization of Cooperation on Railways. The positions have strengthened after the country's accession to the OCR agreement on container transportation in container trains in international communications, said Miroslav Antonovich, Chairman of the Committee of the Organization for Cooperation on Railways (OCR) in his video message at the conference "International Transport and Transit Corridors: Interconnection and Development - 2023" (ITTC—2023). The Forum started its work in Ashgabat on May 3.
The work under this agreement is aimed at identifying the functioning of international transport corridors, increasing the volume of container traffic, conducting a competitive pricing policy and establishing convenient logistics. Cooperation in these areas will be beneficial both for Turkmenistan and for all parties to the agreement and will allow the exchange of experience OCR useful innovative developments with all OSZhD member countries, Antonovich noted.
The member countries of the organization, with the participation of Turkmen experts, are currently working on a single SMGS railway waybill for land routes and water sections that can be used for transportation. Also, to give this invoice additional functions - a document of title, which allows counter-agents to make their decisions regarding the supply of their products to the markets of different countries and facilitate the process of financing international transport by banks.
An effective tool for cooperation in the field of railway transport is also the digitalization of MP, the development of mechanisms and tools for the exchange of data between participants in the transportation process, the Chairman of OCR continued. To date, within the framework of the organization and in cooperation with partners, the SMGS electronic waybill and the CIMSMGS electronic waybill have been developed, which confirmed the rationality. The document is becoming increasingly popular in international transportation between the SMGS and GOT railway law systems.
In order to harmonize customs formalities at the IRT, together with UNESCAP, we have developed and published a document on the potential of electronic data exchange – its implementation brings bonuses, Miroslav Antonovich stressed.
