Turkey has discovered reserves of high-quality oil in the south-east of the country

Turkey has discovered new oil reserves in the Judi and Gabar districts in the province of Sirnak in the south-east of the country, the Anadolu agency reports.
This was announced by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the opening ceremony of the largest solar power plant in Europe "Karapynar" and the commissioning of facilities in the central province of Konya.
The production capacity of the new field is estimated at 100 thousand barrels per day. According to the President, the oil found at a depth of 2,600 meters will be extracted using 100 wells.
"The reserves will be able to satisfy one tenth of our daily consumption," Erdogan said, adding that the oil has a high—quality structure.
The oil well in Gabara will be named after a young music teacher Aibuke Yalchin.
