Turkmen experts master software for statistical business register
Employees of the State Statistics Committee of Turkmenistan conducted preliminary testing of the software for the statistical business register for compliance with technical requirements. They were assisted in this by the international expert of the UNDP Sergey Kuzin, who visited Turkmenistan.
The Statistical Business Register is a regularly updated database of economic units in a certain territory. It contains brief administrative and economic information about all legal entities of the public and private sectors included in the register. The records are kept by the National statistical office.
The Statistical Register of Enterprises (SRE) plays a key role in the production of economic statistics, both in terms of the method of production of statistics, and in terms of its content and quality.
The development of software for the statistical business register is provided for by a joint project of the State Statistics Committee of Turkmenistan and UNDP to strengthen the institutional, statistical and information technology potential of the State Statistics Committee.
