Deputy Head of the Kazakh government Serik Zhumangarin announced Kazakhstan's plans to increase trade cooperation with Afghanistan. This became known during a meeting of the Kazakh government on Tuesday, reports Amu.tv.

"We plan to increase this trade cooperation. There is a real prospect of supplying wheat, flour, vegetable oil (to Afghanistan). Why should we give up this opportunity?", said Zhumangarin.

In addition, it is planned to organize a joint business forum of the two countries to familiarize and coordinate work with local business communities. It is noted that currently the trade turnover between Kabul and Astana has reached $1 billion.

Earlier it was reported that Kazakhstan received a diplomatic mission from Afghanistan and intends to open its trade representative office in the Afghan province of Herat.
