Austrian seismologists offered to hold seminars and trainings for Turkmen colleagues


Specialists of the Institute of Seismology and Atmospheric Physics of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan held an online conference with their Austrian colleagues from the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty Organization.
Austrian seismologists have expressed interest in holding training seminars and trainings that will improve the skills of Turkmen specialists, as well as strengthen international cooperation, the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper reports.
During the conference, Scientific Secretary of the Research Institute Svetlana Ahmedova informed foreign colleagues about the technical condition of the Alibeg digital station, which transmits information about seismic wave fluctuations to Ashgabat and then to the International Data Center in Vienna.
It was noted that currently there are 20 seismic stations in Turkmenistan, including mobile ones, which monitor the activity of Earth tremors. At the same time, these stations cover almost the entire territory of the country.
