The Turkmen delegation got acquainted with the work of EU agencies in The Hague


Law enforcement officers of Turkmenistan, along with other delegates from the countries of the region, took part in a study tour to the relevant EU agencies and agencies in The Hague, the Netherlands. This is reported on the Instagram page of the Representative Office of the European Union in Turkmenistan.
The delegation visited the Counter—Terrorism Center of Europol, the police service of the European Union, where they got acquainted with the operational capabilities of the center. Europol officials also familiarized the participants with the methodology for preparing a regular report on the situation and trends in the field of terrorism (TE-SAT).
The participants of the study visit were also informed about the activities of the European Union Agency dealing with Judicial Authorities (Eurojust), which promotes mutual legal assistance in criminal matters.
The visit to The Hague ended with a visit to the International Counter-Terrorism Center (ICTC). The delegation also held meetings with representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Justice and Security of the Netherlands.
The study visit was organized within the framework of the LEICA project funded by the European Union. Its activities are aimed at building the capacity of law enforcement agencies in Central Asia to improve security at both the national and regional levels.
