The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation highly appreciated the motor rally "Caspian Sea- a Sea of Friendship"

"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation highly appreciates the motorcycle rally, which is aimed at further strengthening regional ties and developing international cooperation in general," the message for the media published on the website of the diplomatic department on Saturday reads.
It is noted that the motorcycle race around the Caspian Sea, initiated by the Governor of the Astrakhan Region Igor Babushkin, which took place in early April under the motto “The Caspian Sea- a Sea of Friendship”, showed the invariably friendly good-neighborly relations that connect the countries of the Caspian Sea.
The motor rally route with a length of almost 5 thousand kilometers passed through the territory of all the Caspian states - Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Iran and Azerbaijan. The participants are activists of the motor movement of the Astrakhan region. The column of motorcyclists was personally led by Governor Igor Babushkin.
As part of the motorcycle race, meetings and negotiations were held between the head of the Russian region and officials of the Caspian states, in particular, with the president of Turkmenistan, the prime minister of Azerbaijan, and the leaders of the Kazakh and Iranian regions. Agreements were reached and a number of documents aimed at developing mutually beneficial cooperation were signed.
This unique international project received a high public and political assessment, as well as wide media coverage in all countries of the Caspian region.
"Its results have become yet another evidence that the Caspian has been and remains a region of friendship and good neighborliness," the ministry added.
