Central Asian Film Festival to be held in South Korea

Most recently, the South Korean city of Yijeongbu in Gyeonggi Province, north of Seoul, hosted the events of the Days of Turkmen Culture, within which a film by Turkmen cinematographers was shown at Shinhan University.
Now the city authorities of Yijongbu have once again joined forces with Shinhan University to hold a Central Asian film festival for two days - on April 28 and 29.
The opening ceremony of the festival is planned to be held at Shinhan University on April 28, during which taekwondo performances, performances of girl groups of popular music and other festive events will be held to attract the attention of the general public to film screenings.
Announcing the film festival, Mayor Kim Dong-geun said: "Korea and Central Asia have established deep trust in each other and are engaged in active cultural exchange."
― It is expected that this film festival will serve as an opportunity for local residents to get a taste of new foreign cultures and peoples, - the mayor added.
12 films from Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan and three more from the "invited" countries - Azerbaijan, Mongolia and Indonesia have been announced for free viewing.
