The youth of the SCO countries talked with the crew of the Shenzhou-15 spacecraft

The crew members of the tenth manned spacecraft of the People's Republic of China "Shenzhou-15" held a communication session with students and schoolchildren of the SCO countries.
The event at the Diaoyutai State Residence in Beijing was organized by the Commission of Good Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization together with the Chinese National Space Administration and the All-China Youth Federation. It was aimed at deepening the knowledge of the youth of the SCO countries in the field of cosmonautics.
The communication session with Chinese cosmonauts was simultaneously held in many countries: Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, India, Iran, Belarus, etc. Being on board the Chinese space station "Tiangong" at an altitude of four hundred kilometers, the astronauts answered the questions of young people. They asked about the most difficult tasks in space, how taikonauts (cosmonauts working within the framework of the Chinese space program) live and what they do on weekends, etc.
"The development of cosmonautics is not limited only to space, it leads to a technological breakthrough in all areas. For example, space breeding helps us to produce seeds that will be more productive and resistant to pests and diseases, and space technologies can also be applied at civilian industrial facilities," SCO Secretary General Zhang Ming said in his speech, stressing that many participating countries of the organization have made an outstanding contribution to the human exploration of outer space.
