The President of Turkmenistan signed a decree on the celebration of Eid al-Fitr on April 21, in connection with which Friday next week will be a non-working day.

All institutions, enterprises and organizations, regardless of the form of ownership, are required to ensure the implementation of this document.

The decree was adopted "in order to further strengthen the unity, harmony and cohesion of the native people", as well as "careful attitude to centuries-old traditions and customs."

Eid al-Fitr, along with Eid al-Adha, is one of the two most important holidays in Islam. It marks the end of the holy month of fasting - Oraza. On this day, Turkmen people traditionally arrange festive dinners-sadaka at home, visit each other and visit the mosque.
