Leading universities in Japan have opposed the use of ChatGPT and other types of artificial intelligence for writing educational and scientific papers, NHK reports.

Thus, the rector of one of the leading universities in the country — Kyoto University — warned students against using artificial intelligence, since the text created by AI may contain errors, besides, an important part of the educational process is deprived — writing the text yourself.

The main higher educational institution of Japan — the University of Tokyo — posted a column signed by the deputy rector on the internal portal for students, in which he noted that the academic papers "should be written by a student himself and this is the starting point, and they cannot be created only by artificial intelligence."

Tohoku University, in turn, notes that the use of artificial intelligence can lead to the leakage of information from unpublished works or any other classified information.
