Istanbul invites to its unique museums on National Day of Independence and children of Turkey

Every year on April 23, Turkey celebrates the Day of National Independence and Children of Turkey. It coincides with the beginning of the work of the first convocation of the Grand National Assembly in 1920 in Ankara.
The holiday is usually held in secondary educational institutions — the main streets and school grounds are decorated with flowers, balloons, as well as Turkish flags. The first President of the Republic of Turkey, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, believed that the future of the nation is laid in childhood. Therefore, on this day, adults give up their place to children.
Children's museums are also preparing for April 23. Only in Istanbul, the main city, there are a considerable number of them.
Here are some of them:
Rahmi Kocha Industrial Museum — one of the iconic sights of Istanbul. The museum will plunge visitors into an unforgettable journey into the past with exhibits featuring classic cars, the first trams, boats, vintage airplanes, steamships and penny-farthings (the first types of bicycles). Visitors can also broaden their horizons in the departments dedicated to scientific inventions.
The museum also regularly organizes workshops for children.
Journey to childhood: Toy Museum
The Istanbul Toy Museum, located in the historical Kadikoye, invites visitors of all ages to the world of toys. The museum's toy collection has been collected over two decades by poet and writer Sunai Akin from antique shops and auctions in more than 40 countries around the world.
The exhibits of the institution include famous examples of toy history from the 1700s to the present day. It should also be noted that the Istanbul Toy Museum became a pioneer in the creation of the union of children's museums and toy museums around the world, which contributed to Istanbul receiving the title of "capital of toy museums".
Museum of Illusions
Istanbul Museum of Illusions will immerse children in an amazing and entertaining world of illusions.
Optical illusions, holograms, illusory tunnels will leave fascinating impressions for visitors of all ages. You can't leave without visiting the Endless and Inverted rooms of the museum.
Miniature – where time stops
This is a relatively new attraction in Istanbul, opened to visitors in 2003. Visit Miniature — this is an introduction to the history of Turkey. His motto is "A small model of a big country".
The museum, beloved by children, contains the architectural heritage of the civilizations that ruled Anatolia throughout history. This is a unique park, which exhibits miniature copies (on a scale of 1/25) of the sights that Turkey is proud of. Each copy is accompanied by a brief audio description in several popular languages of the world.
