Kazakh films and TV series may appear on the Netflix platform


The Minister of Information and Public Development of Kazakhstan Darkhan Kydyrali held a meeting with the regional director of Netflix Alexander Long, during which the possibility of placing Kazakh films on this platform was considered.
"Given the huge potential of the company, I expressed interest in establishing a partnership. We intend to broadcast Kazakhstani films on Netflix in the future," the minister wrote on his Facebook.
The official noted that in recent years, films and TV series of Kazakh production have significantly increased their quality level, The Astana Times reports.
It is worth noting that the reputation of Kazakh cinema is quite high, especially in the post-Soviet space. Such films as "Time of Patriots", "Kudalar", "Lodgers", "Married Bach" and many others have become favorites of viewers from the CIS.
In turn, the streaming service Netflix is one of the most popular worldwide platforms in terms of the number of movie and TV series views. The company has more than 230 million subscribers in 190 countries.
Since 2020, there has been a Russian website design for viewers from the CIS.
