Iran karate team became the best team in the world in 2019

Iran’s men's karate team led by Shahram Kheravi became the best team in the world in 2019. After the final stage of the Karate Premier League World Cup in 2019, held in Madrid, Iranian athletes won two gold and two bronze medals. At the same time, having received 30 medals throughout the year - seven gold, 10 silver and 13 bronze, the Iranian team showed the highest result among the teams of the planet and became the best in 2019. Kazakhstan and Japan in this indicator respectively took the second and third places. Recently, Iranian trainer Shahab Sultani led the national karate team of Uzbekistan. He will train athletes for the Tokyo Olympics. Also, the 36-year-old Iranian repeated world champion Hussein Rouhani was appointed the head coach of the Russian karate team. A contract with him was signed before the end of the 2020 Olympic Games, reports IRNA. The Olympic Games in Tokyo will be held from July 24 to August 9, 2020. Karate at the Olympic Games will be presented for the first time.
