Participants of the motor rally "Caspian Sea of Friendship" met in Baku

Participants of the first motocross "Caspian Sea of Friendship" led by the governor of the Astrakhan region of the Russian Federation Igor Babushkin arrived in Baku on April 8. In ten days, Russian bikers traveled thousands of kilometers, visiting the cities of Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Iran. Last stop - Azerbaijan.
The purpose of the motocross is to strengthen good neighborly relations with the countries of the Caspian region and further develop multilateral cooperation.

The governor of the Astrakhan region, Igor Babushkin, in an interview with Moscow-Baku, noted that they were the first to travel around the Caspian Sea on motorcycles.
“It was not by chance that we chose the name “Caspian Sea of Friendship”. We wanted to show that we are much closer to each other around the Caspian than the hundreds of kilometers that separate us. The whole journey was accompanied by meetings. We were warmly welcomed everywhere. We saw original cultures, met new people and traveled all this way in a good mood,” Babushkin said.

An extensive program is planned for Russian guests in Azerbaijan, including a meeting with secretary of the Baku and Azerbaijan diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church, Archimandrite Alexy. A working meeting between Igor Babushkin and Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov is also planned. The parties will discuss issues of cooperation in the areas of trade, industry, education and culture. Particular attention will be paid to cooperation in the field of logistics and transport. Igor Babushkin will also meet with representatives of regional youth public organizations of the Astrakhan region and Azerbaijan.
On the evening of April 10, the Russian motorcade will cross the Azerbaijani-Russian border and head back to Astrakhan.
