The CIS may establish a medal "For contribution to the consolidation of peace"
The CIS plans to establish a medal "For contribution to the consolidation of peace", the press service of the Commonwealth reports.
The initiative was discussed at a meeting of the expert group to coordinate the relevant project as part of the implementation of the Decision of the Council of Defense Ministers of the CIS states of June 24, 2022.
As an interstate badge of distinction, the medal "For Contribution to Peace Consolidation" will recognize special personal merits and distinctions of citizens of the CIS member states, as well as representatives of other states in strengthening peace and maintaining international security.
Materials on the results of the meeting will be sent to the countries for the procedure of internal coordination. After that, the draft Decision on the establishment of the medal will be submitted to the Council of Foreign Ministers and the Council of CIS Heads of State.
