The capacity of TANAP will be doubled in the future

In the near future, the capacity of the Trans-Anatolian Gas Pipeline (TANAP) will be doubled, Trend reports with reference to the speech of Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Fatih Donmez at the meeting of energy Ministers of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) in Budapest.
Currently, the capacity of the pipeline, which is an integral part of the Southern Gas Corridor, is 16 billion cubic meters per year. In the future, this figure can be increased to 31 billion cubic meters.
The increase in the capacity of the gas pipeline will benefit both Turkey and its neighbors, the minister said. Noting the importance of continuing efforts to diversify the sources and supplies of energy resources, Fatih Donmez also added that Turkey is ready for energy cooperation with the CIS countries.
"We must use this potential to create synergies, in particular for the implementation of multinational projects in the field of oil, natural gas and electricity. We will make a positive contribution to the welfare of the member countries and observers of the OTS by uniting the east and west of the Caspian Sea," the Minister said.
