Putin has made changes to the program of resettlement of compatriots
Russian President Vladimir Putin has made changes to the state program to assist the voluntary resettlement of compatriots living abroad to Russia, adopted in 2006.
The relevant decree was published on the official online portal of legal information, RIA Novosti reports.
According to the innovation, compatriots outside Russia who speak Russian at a level sufficient to communicate orally and in writing in a language environment can apply for participation in the program.
The rule remains relevant for foreign citizens who are in the territory of the Russian Federation and are interested in participating in the state program.
Proficiency in Russian can be confirmed by a number of educational documents or through an interview, which is conducted by a decision of the commission formed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation. An online interview is provided for compatriots outside Russia.
At the same time, the decree notes that compatriots from among the citizens of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Moldova and Ukraine are exempt from providing the relevant education document and passing an interview that confirms the level of proficiency in the Russian language.
