Kazakhstan will provide a 40% discount for the transportation of the main range of goods through Russian-Kazakh border crossings on the North-South route in the direction of Turkmenistan, TASS reports.

The discount applies to all goods except grain, milling products and petroleum products. Other Central Asian countries may also be the final destination of cargo transportation.

At the moment, discounts on the railways of Turkmenistan are 50% in the direction of the Ak Yayla crossing and 40% in the direction of Iran via Serahs.

It is expected that cargo transportation along this corridor will double in the first quarter of 2023 compared to the same period last year.
