Toyota, Hyundai and Kia cars to be “dressed” in Uzbek leather

Leather from Uzbekistan will be used in interior trim of Toyota, Hyundai and Kia cars. The South Korean company JM, the largest leather manufacturer in the country and the region, expressed a desire to purchase products from Uzbek tanneries, Podrobno.uz reports.
JM is one of the world leaders in the production of leather, which is provided by the largest automakers in South Korea and Japan. The factory is equipped with Italian and German technology, and the annual income is 250 million dollars.
The Korean side offered Uzbek leather producers to create a joint venture and export the finished products of the joint venture to South Korea for use in the automotive industry. These and other projects will be discussed by the parties in Tashkent, where a JM delegation will arrive in April for negotiations.
