The national team of Turkmenistan won the first victory in the selection match of the Asian Basketball Cup 3x3
The national basketball team of Turkmenistan defeated the Kingdom of Tonga in the match of the 2nd round of the qualifying tournament of the Asian Cup-2023.
The meeting held in Singapore ended with a score of 19:15 in favor of Turkmenistan. In a tense match, Merdan Hojamedov turned out to be the most productive in the team of Toyly Bayryev, who scored 9 points. In the first round match, the Turkmen basketball players lost to South Korea with a score of 8:15.
Following the results of the two rounds, the qualifying subgroup was headed by New Zealand. South Korea is in second place. Turkmenistan has the third line, and the Kingdom of Tonga has the fourth.
If the qualification is successfully overcome, the national team of Turkmenistan will get into the main draw of the tournament, where they will meet with Australia and Japan.
