The Information Center of the Ministry of Education will help graduates to recognize foreign diplomas

The Innovation and Information Center (IIC) of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan will help graduates of foreign universities to recognize their qualifications on the territory of Turkmenistan.
This follows from order of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, signed on March 28.
The document defined the information center of the Ministry of Education as an institution that is "authorized to carry out the functions of national information centers specified in the Convention on the Recognition of Professional Qualifications on Higher Education in the European Region."
This means that the IIC of the Ministry of Education will provide graduates with all the information they need to confirm qualifications obtained at universities in countries that have joined the aforementioned Convention.
Qualifications mean any documents officially recognizing that a person has the necessary knowledge and skills to perform a certain job or profession. These can be both documents of universities and secondary vocational educational institutions.
The order also states that the measures taken are designed to promote:
– provision of the country with employees with higher and secondary vocational education,
– improving the recognition in Turkmenistan of documents on higher and secondary vocational education issued in foreign countries,
– Turkmenistan's fulfillment of obligations arising from the Convention on the Recognition of Professional Qualifications on Higher Education in the European Region.
All provisions of the presidential decree will come into force only after amendments and additions to the laws of Turkmenistan. They are ordered to be prepared within a month by the Ministries of Education and Justice.
The Innovation and Information Center of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan was established in 2020 and operates on the territory of the National Institute of Education of Turkmenistan in Ashgabat at 136 Magtymguly Avenue.
