5 golden medals won by Turkmen weightlifters in Turkey
At the completed international weightlifting tournament in the Turkish city of Gaziantep, the national team of Turkmenistan won 13 medals - five gold, four silver and four bronze.
In the weight category up to 55 kg, the gold "piggy bank" was supplemented by Kristina Shermetova, who became one of the best in the snatch (87 kg) and jerk (113 kg).
Seidjan Mirzaev (61 kg) turned out to be a step away from the victory, a total of 265 kg following the results of two exercises. The athlete managed to lead in the double event, which brought him one gold and two silver medals.
Coach from Mary Khojamuhammet Toychiev (+109 kg) brought three medals to the national team of Turkmenistan - one silver and two bronzes.
This international tournament is qualifying, here athletes get points for participating in the upcoming Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo in 2020. Having crossed one line, Turkmen athletes, in December of this year, will go to China for the World Weightlifting Cup.
