74.4% of voters voted before 15:00 in the parliamentary elections in Turkmenistan

In the elections to the deputies of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, 74.48% of electors voted by 15:00. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov voted at polling station No. 48 of the Kopetdag district of Ashgabat, located in a specialized secondary school No. 68 named after Annanyyaz Artyk.

According to the Central Election Commission, 76.43% voted in Akhal region, 75.25% in Balkan region, 72.82% in Dashoguz region, 72.45% in Lebap region, and 75.03% in Mary region. The electorate in Ashgabat showed the greatest activity - 76.95% of voters have already voted here.

In the elections for members of the velayat, etrap, city halk maslahaty, 74.65% of electors voted by 15:00. In the elections for members of the gengeshi - 74.17% of voters.

Voting continues. Less than four hours left before it ends.

In general, 2,644 polling stations have been opened across the country, and only 3,496,304 voters have been registered. For the first time, 75,606 electors over 18 are voting in the elections.

At the elections of deputies of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan of the 7th convocation, candidates from three political parties - the Democratic Party, the Party of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, the Agrarian Party - and groups of civil initiative groups are elected to regional and district representative bodies, as well as local governments. There are 258 candidates competing for 125 seats in parliament, including 175 candidates from political parties and 83 candidates from civil initiative groups.

2855 representatives of local and about 80 international organizations are present at the elections as observers.
