Novruz was widely celebrated in Tatarstan with the participation of students from Turkmenistan


The International Day of Novruz was widely celebrated in Tatarstan with the participation of students from Turkmenistan and representatives of the Turkmen diaspora, the Consulate General of Turkmenistan in the Russian city of Kazan reports.
One of the festive events was organized on the territory of the hippodrome in Kazan with the participation of representatives of various nationalities, including the Turkmen diaspora.
An exhibition was opened for the guests, introducing the peculiarities of the culture of different peoples, their traditions and customs. In turn, the National Cultural Autonomy of Turkmens of the Republic of Tatarstan, together with Turkmen students and with the support of the Consulate General of Turkmenistan in Kazan, presented items reflecting the cultural values of the Turkmen people, national clothes and jewelry, carpets.
At the stand of Turkmen students it was also possible to get acquainted with the books of the chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. The guests were treated to Turkmen pilaf. Turkmen dances were performed to national tunes.
As part of the event, the winners of the competition, which was held in honor of the Novruz holiday, were announced. A student from Turkmenistan, Hesel Garlyeva, became the winner in the nomination "Nauruz Gozeli". And the Turkmen national song Noý, noý performed by a young girl from the Turkmen diaspora in Tatarstan was greeted with stormy applause.
Festive events were also held at the Institute of Philology and Intercultural Communication of Kazan (Volga Region) Federal University, I.N.Ulyanov Chuvash State University.
