The city of Arkadag has acquired a special legal status

The new administrative center of the Akhal region — the city of Arkadag — acquired a special legal status and became a city of national importance. The law on this was signed by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the official Turkmen media reported.
According to the bill, the city of Arkadag will represent a special administrative-territorial unit, demonstrating the successes of the Turkmen people and modern traditions of state-building.
The law also prescribes the procedure for the functioning of local authorities and industry services.
