Director General of the International Buddhist Confederation Abhijit Halder admitted that the earliest traces of Buddhist traditions were found in Central Asia, Ani news reports following the results of the SCO conference on "Common Buddhist Heritage".
He noted that a healthy ecosystem was created on the territory of the Central Asian countries, which carried a positive message, peacefulness and principles of a healthy lifestyle.
And since chaos reigned in the neighboring regions, traders moved to Central Asia to bring the values of Buddhism into their cultures upon their return. Traces of such an ecosystem date back to the II century BC.
