Turkmenistan discussed simplified transit in the Middle Corridor


The Turkmen delegation headed by the Deputy Chairman of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan took part in the Multilateral meeting of the heads of customs services on the project of simplification of transit procedures on the principle of "one window" along the Trans-Caspian International Middle corridor "East-West".
The event was held in Baku, the website of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan reports. At the meeting, the parties discussed the development and implementation of mechanisms to simplify transit customs procedures and accelerate border crossing processes, such as e-TIR, e-CMR, e-Permit.
The participants also considered the prospects of the Trans-Caspian International Middle Corridor "East-West" and its significance for the region.
Following the meeting, representatives of the customs services of the participating countries adopted an appropriate Action Plan for further actions in this area.
The multilateral meeting was attended by heads and representatives of the customs services of Azerbaijan, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Georgia, Secretary General of the World Customs Organization Kunio Mikuria, Deputy Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) Mirvohid Azimov, as well as a number of other international organizations.
According to the source, the event was held as part of the implementation of the Samarkand Declaration of the 9th Summit of the Organization of Turkic States, adopted on November 11, 2022.
