Ashgabat is going to host the 3rd International Theatre Festival
From 19 to 23 November, amateurs of theatrical art in Turkmenistan will have a real holiday. As part of the 3rd International Theatre Festival, creative teams from many countries will present their best performances on the capital’s stages.
The United States, Russia, Ukraine, Estonia, Turkey, Afghanistan, Iran – this is an incomplete list of states, represented in such a bright event of late autumn.
The presentation of theater groups and the opening ceremony of the festival will be held on the square in front of the Main Drama Theater of the country. On the same day, the performance “Makhtumkuli” will be shown at the National Drama Theater named after Alp Arslan, as well as the Opera “Pagliacci” on the stage of the Musical Drama Theater named after Makhtumkuli. The production by Italian Director Daniele De Plano involves artists of Turkmen and Italian Opera.
During the week, there will be performances of different genres and trends. Among them are the famous love story of the Kazakh Theater Zhastar in the musical “Zhibek”, “Caravan Chronicles” of the American “Theatre simple”.
For the youngest admirers of art, on the stage of the State Puppet Theater, there will be performances: “The Tale of the Fisherman and the Fish” of the Bryansk Regional Puppet Theater (Russia), “Geese-Swans” of the Kiev Academic Puppet Theater.
The current creative forum includes thematic exhibitions and meetings, conferences and master classes, exchange of experience and opinions on the ways in the field of the theatrical world.
