The Embassy of Turkmenistan in the State of Qatar will be opened as part of the upcoming visit of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to Doha, TDH reports following a meeting of the Turkmen government on March 17.
The Head of State instructed Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov to ensure thorough preparations for the planned visit, during which a number of documents important for strengthening cooperation with the Middle East are expected to be signed.
The decree on the opening of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Qatar was previously signed by the head of state in December last year. The Arab state itself opened its embassy in Ashgabat in 2014.
Diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and Qatar were established in November 1996.
