Uzbekistan announced the proposal to create a single payment system in Central Asia at a meeting of the Council of the Framework Agreement on Trade and Investment between the governments of the United States and Central Asian countries (TIFA), held in Samarkand, the Uzbek press reports.

The project provides for the creation of a regional platform for suppliers of goods and services with a single payment system, the organization of data centers and a database of exporters and importers for forecasting and risk management, as well as ensuring sanitary and epidemiological well-being.

Also, the Uzbek side proposed to introduce electronic systems for certification of agricultural products, customs measures and procedures based on the recommendations of the Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP) and harmonization of phytosanitary requirements. It was noted the need to regularly exchange best practices, expand the economic rights and opportunities of women in the region.

At the Samarkand meeting, it was noted that fruitful interaction between the Central Asian countries in the trade, economic, investment, transport and other fields will contribute to the adoption of a number of specific measures to use untapped resources and opportunities, including the unification of the legislation on e-commerce of the countries of the region and the creation of a unified independent arbitration system.
