The Turkmen city of Arkadag may become a sister city of the French Maison Laffitte

The establishment of twinning relations between the city of Arkadag and the French Maison Laffitte was discussed by the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to France Maksat Charyev and the mayor of the French city, honorary member of the French Parliament Jacques Miard, according to a press release of the Turkmen diplomatic mission.
Located at a distance of 19 km from Paris, Maison Laffitte is known for its centuries-old attractions and a large racetrack with the longest straight line in Europe. In addition, there are stables, racehorse training facilities and a bronze statue of the horse "Ptolemy" in the city.
The Ambassador of Turkmenistan informed the Mayor of the city about the progress of the construction of the city of Arkadag — the new administrative center of the Ahal region, which should become one of the major cities of the country.
It was noted that along with numerous infrastructure facilities, the Ahal Equestrian Circus, the Scientific and Production Center of Horse Breeding, the statue of the famous horse Ak-han, included in the Guinness Book of Records, as well as the International Equestrian Academy named after Aba Annayev will be built in the new city.
Miard thanked for the information provided and supported the idea of establishing twinning relations between the city of Arkadag and Maison Laffitte. Such ties will contribute to the development of close and long-term relations between the two cities, the mayor stressed.
After the meeting, Miard familiarized the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to France with the infrastructure and sights of the city of Maison Laffitte, which is one of the most picturesque cities in France.
