New British Ambassador was appointed to Turkmenistan


Stephen Conlon has been appointed His Majesty's Ambassador to Turkmenistan to replace Lucy Wild, who is moving to another position in the civil service. Conlon will take office in May 2023. This was reported on Tuesday by the UK government portal.
Prior to this appointment, Stephen Austin Conlon worked at the British Mission to the EU, Brussels, was the head of the European Parliament group, Attache for Food Safety and Veterinary Medicine, previously Deputy head of Mission, Charge d'affaires and Her Majesty's Consul in Vilnius. Also in his track record there are various positions that he performed in Helsinki, Stockholm.
He represented the UK on the issues of the single market, food, energy, health and veterinary medicine. Has an MBA degree. Speaks Russian.
