The CIS observer mission continues monitoring the election campaign in Turkmenistan

As part of monitoring the preparation and conduct of parliamentary elections in Turkmenistan, the CIS observer mission held meetings with representatives of the Supreme Court, the Prosecutor General's Office and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkmenistan. Thus, Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Court of Turkmenistan Aman Geokjaev informed the members of the mission about the organization of the work of the courts during the election campaign and noted the readiness of the judicial authorities to ensure timely consideration of the appeals of participants in the electoral process.

In turn, Deputy Prosecutor General of Turkmenistan Alymuhammet Amammedov spoke about the tasks facing the prosecutor's office in the field of protecting the electoral rights of citizens of the country.

Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Turkmenistan Yazguly Agabayev informed the observers about measures to ensure public order during the parliamentary elections in the country.

As a result, an agreement was reached to inform the Mission Headquarters about the appeals of citizens received during the electoral process and the revealed offenses. According to representatives of the state bodies of Turkmenistan, at the moment there have been no complaints related to the electoral process and violation of the electoral rights of citizens.

The observer mission also met with members of the election headquarters of the Party of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan (PIET), who told about the party's election program. The observers also got acquainted with the work of a number of polling stations in Ashgabat and Mary region.

The CIS observer mission has been formed. 49 observers representing the CIS countries, the Interparliamentary Assembly of the CIS Member States, and the CIS Executive Committee are accredited in its composition.
