Members of the OSCE mission will observe the parliamentary elections in Turkmenistan


Members of the mission of the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE/ODIHR) will be able to freely monitor all stages of the parliamentary elections to be held on March 26 in Turkmenistan.
Representatives of the international structure, invited on the initiative of Ashgabat, got acquainted with the action plan of the Turkmen Central Election Commission, and also received guarantees of free access to polling stations, the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper reports.
During the meeting with the CEC representatives, the members of the mission were issued the appropriate certificates. The parties noted the productive nature of cooperation within the framework of the "open door" policy, as well as the high alternative in the upcoming elections.
ODIHR/OSCE has expressed its readiness to contribute to reforms in the national legislation and the electoral system of the country, as well as to exchange experience in the organization of election campaigns.
