The WHO Healthy Cities project is being actively implemented in the CIS


A meeting of the Coordinating Council for the implementation of the project of the World Health Organization "Healthy Cities" was held in St. Petersburg, the press service of the Executive Committee of the Commonwealth reports.
The participants discussed the issues of ensuring the prevention of non-communicable diseases, sanitary and epidemiological safety of atmospheric air in the cities of the Commonwealth within the framework of the project.
The Healthy Cities project of the WHO Regional Office for Europe brings together representatives from various fields to improve the health and quality of life of citizens through intersectoral cooperation and public participation.
The project has grown into a global movement; over 1,000 cities, districts and towns from more than 30 countries of the WHO European Region participate in the development of the Healthy Cities project, as well as are involved in national, regional and thematic networks.
