Turkmenistan has extended the validity period of 200 thousand passports of citizens abroad


Embassies and consulates of Turkmenistan have extended the validity period of about 200 thousand passports of citizens of Turkmenistan who are abroad and could not return home due to restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic. This is reported in a publication on the website of the country's Foreign Ministry.
The practice of extending certificates continues, the Foreign Ministry notes. You can renew your passport if its term has already expired or expires in the period from January 1, 2020 to December 30, 2024. The document can be extended until December 31, 2024.
During the pandemic, the Government of Turkmenistan also organized dozens of special export flights for Turkmen citizens who were in Russia, Belarus, China, Turkey, Germany, Poland, Romania, the United States and other countries. Some of the flights were carried out free of charge.
Also, during the period of restrictions on international flights, Turkmenistan organized a number of visits of diplomatic missions for practical assistance to citizens of the country on the ground.
