The junior national hockey team of Turkmenistan won a strong-willed victory with a score of 4:3 over the Thai team in the second round of the Asian and Oceania Championship 2023 (U18).

Serdar Durdyev and Rovshen Ashirov scored two goals each in the Turkmenistan national team.

In other matches of the tour, the host of the tournament — Mongolia — defeated the UAE team with a score of 10:2, and Uzbekistan left no chance for Iran - 14:1.

Following the results of two rounds, the wards of Guvanchmurad Jepbarov with three points were placed in fourth place in the standings. Uzbekistan is on the first line, having beaten the national team of Turkmenistan in the opening game of the championship (6 points). The second place with the same number of points is taken by the national team of Mongolia. The UAE closes the top three, having three points to its credit.

The Turkmen hockey players will hold their next meeting on March 14 against the UAE national team.

Teams from Turkmenistan, Mongolia, Uzbekistan, Iran, the UAE and Thailand are competing for the title of the best team on the continent. The tournament will end on March 19.
