The IOC and UN Women launch a new project to promote gender equality

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the UN Structure for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN-Women) have launched the project "Gender Equality through Sport".
The project was presented at the 67th session of the Women Status Commission (WSC) held at the UN Headquarters in New York. It will use sport as a tool to promote gender equality and prevent gender-based violence, support sports and public organizations in eradicating gender inequality.
Thus, within the framework of the project, an annual program will be launched to exchange knowledge and experience gained during the previous partnership of the IOC and the UN-Women One Win Leads to Another.
The initiative "Gender Equality through Sport" is in line with the IOC Olympism365 strategy, which was developed to strengthen the role of sport as an important factor in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
