The Turkmen judoka won a silver medal at the European Open Championship in Italy

Turkmen judoka Serdar Rahimov won a silver medal at the European Open in the weight category up to 66 kg, which was held on March 10-12 in Rome (Italy).
At the preliminary stage of the tournament, the Turkmen judoka defeated Julien Frascador (Canada), Anthony De Angelis (Latvia), Alexander Short (Great Britain).
At the semi-final stage, Serdar Rahimov broke the resistance of Luca Caggiano (Italy). In the final match, the Turkmen judoka lost to Charlie Young from Great Britain, winning a silver medal.
The tournament in Italy brought together 381 athletes (220 men and 161 women) from 34 countries. The team of Turkmenistan was represented by 16 judoists (11 men and 5 women).
