"TURKSOY's sacred duty is to be a solid bridge in the culture of all Turkic peoples, to bring fraternal peoples closer through literature and culture," TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev said in his speech at the association's establishment ceremony, expressing confidence that the Writers' Union will lead the Turkic civilization to a new stage of revival.

The head of the Writers' Union of Kazakhstan Ulugbek Esdaulet was elected Chairman of the newly created association, the presidents of the writers' unions of the TURKSOY member countries were appointed vice-presidents.

The first meeting of the TURKSOY Writers' Union is scheduled to be held in Uzbekistan at the end of March this year.
