Turkey to host global conference on sustainable tourism
On May 9-12, 2023, the Turkish capital Antalya will host a global conference on sustainable tourism - Global sustainable tourism conference-2023.
The event annually brings together representatives of the tourism sector who are interested in the development and promotion of environmentally friendly travel and tourism. Among them are representatives of the public and private sectors, hoteliers, tour operators, scientific intelligentsia.
The event is hosted by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC), the leading environmental and sustainability body that sets global standards in this area.
Last year, a conference called to expand the applicability of sustainable tourism standards was hosted by Seville, Spain.
Turkey signed a cooperation agreement with the Global Council for Sustainable Tourism last year. The document defined a roadmap for the country's further actions to restructure the tourism industry.
