Turkmenistan is represented at the EU-Central Asia Civil Society Forum

The delegation of Turkmenistan is taking part in the 4th EU-Central Asia Civil Society Forum in Tashkent, where the participation of young people in decision-making, issues of gender equality and environmental protection are discussed.
11 public organizations are represented from Turkmenistan at the event, according to the Instagram account of the Representative Office of the European Union in Turkmenistan.
The Civil Society Forum was established after the adoption of the EU Strategy for Central Asia. It is designed to emphasize the key role of civil society for the sustainable development of the country, to strengthen their voice in making important decisions.
The event provides a platform for government members, representatives of the private sector, civil society, as well as academia and the media to discuss ideas and proposals on how civil society can contribute to the implementation of the EU regional strategy at the local level.
The Strategy identifies a number of areas in which representatives of civil society and governments, together with the EU, can develop joint approaches: improving Internet access and digitalization; development of social entrepreneurship, that is, using a business approach to solve socio-economic problems; participation of civil society in public decision-making to promote sustainable and inclusive governance.
